#ThrowinHandsWitMyShadowWork is a visual presentation centering on inner self work and the personal up and downs that can come with. This photo essay is also a representation of the New Chicago Wave that has been led by musical artists and community members focused on creating more positive experiences and change in Chicago. These artists have been not only present in the community work happening in the last three years as far as organizing in the scene/industry, but they also represent being in the music scene since the blog era and contributing to that era as well.
The New Wave of Chicago is about truly embracing a new mentality towards collaboration and unity within our communities in our city. there has been a divide in Chicago’s music and art scene/industry for the last forty years. This mural is a representation of the past, present, and future of what our city holds.
